Once again, Websense has been recognized for three awards at the annual SC Magazine Awards. This year, we won all three for:

-          Best Enterprise Security Solution

-          Reader’s Trust Award for Websense Web Security Gateway

-          Best Corporate Security Blog

It is great to win in three different categories and to be recognized for exceptional enterprise protection and research of advanced attacks and evolving threats.

Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere won the award for Best Enterprise Security Solution in the U.S. Excellence Award category and the award for Best Web Content Management Solution in the U.S. Reader’s Trust category. And the Websense Security Labs Blog won the award for Best Corporate Security Blog in the U.S. Social Media Award category. The awards were presented on February 28, 2012 at the SC Magazine Awards Gala in San Francisco.

The product awards are a testament to the foundations that allow us to claim that nobody in the world stops more threats:

-          The research and prevention expertise of the Websense Labs

-          ACE (the Websense Advanced Classification Engine), along with the ThreatSeeker Network

-          The TRITON architecture that products like Websense Web Security Gateway (along with email, mobile, and DLP solutions) are built upon.

Websense won by demonstrating the effectiveness against advanced malware of its real-time content analysis and unified security intelligence to a hand-picked expert panel of judges and the 2012 Reader Trust Voting Panel.

The winner of this blogging category was determined by online votes from the general public, demonstrating that the Websense Security Labs blog is a trusted source for up-to-date and useful information on the latest outbreaks, threats, and other valuable security topics.

Overall, more than 150 technology leaders in San Diego were nominated, and nine were named honorees.

Dave was recognized for his overall leadership, assistance in developing and testing Websense revolutionary TRITON Content Security Solution, while also spearheading more than 75 recent projects. His projects included implementing several critical Websense business intelligence capabilities, which integrated multiple departments, improved sales communication, and increased visibility into Websense’s customers and profitability.

Websense® TRITON™ has been named winner of the Best Content Security Award at the SC Magazine Awards Europe. The judging panel chose Websense TRITON as the best content security solution for its ability to enable businesses to extend the protection it offers to remote offices and mobile workers.  This is due to the integration between the cloud-based and on-premise platforms through Websense TruHybrid deployment for unified management of threats. It also utilizes Websense TruWeb DLP and TruEmail DLP capabilities to cover data loss from the web and through email.

This news comes hot on the heels of another Content Security accolade: earlier this year Websense was named the winner of the Best Web Content Management Product in the U.S. Reader Trust category of the 2011 SC Magazine Awards.

These awards are recognition that the security landscape has changed and that older perimeter-based solutions are no longer sufficient or effective against modern malware. Indeed, organizations no longer have perimeters that can be secured. There are branch offices, mobile devices, and remote workers that need safe access to confidential corporate information -- no matter where it's created or used. Arguably, Websense and the Websense TRITON solution has done more than any other company to enable security, productivity, and data leakage prevention (DLP) in the new era of borderless enterprises.

Websense has been named the winner of the Best Web Content Management Product in the U.S. Reader Trust category of the 2011 SC Magazine Awards. Websense, a clear leader in defining the content security market and in providing uniquely effective unified content security solutions, helps companies secure content, even in the toughest environments, such as social media, mobile devices, and in the cloud. The award was presented on February 15, 2011 at the SC Awards Gala. With a record number of nominations, the 2011 SC Awards U.S. were the most robust and competitive in the program's history.

The category and award are recognition that the security landscape has changed and that older perimeter-based solutions are no longer sufficient or effective against modern malware. Going beyond simply blocking malware, the Websense® Web Security Gateway (WSG) won the Best Web Content Management Product category by proving the success and overall impact of the Websense TRITON™ solution to theReader Trust Voting Panel. The Websense TRITON solution categorizes content including data in real time, which not only blocks malware and data theft, but also enables productive and compliant use of SaaS applications and the social Web, an increasingly vital part of collaboration and communication.

For some companies, leading a market for three years in a row would be enough, but notWebsense, who continues to innovate their product line and anticipate their customer needs, while leading the market in a completely new direction of security. This is the case with the Websense® TruWebDLP™ capabilities that are part of the Websense Advanced Classification Engine (ACE) included in the Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere (WSGA), which provides the only real DLP capabilities for outbound communications. This radical innovation, along with TruHybrid deployment with unified on-premise and Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) management, real-time content classification and up-to-the-minute security scanning, has carried Websense once again to the top of IDC's Worldwide Web Security 2010 - 2014 Forecast and 2009 Vendor Shares report, Doc.#224801, Sep. 2010.

The IDC report further highlights Websense for:

  • Continued Web security market leadership, with market share close to 40 percent larger than the next largest vendor.
  • Continued growth in Web security solution delivery with 256 percent SaaS growth.
  • Superior Web security technology for inbound threats and outbound risks with the Advanced Classification Engine and TRITON™ architecture
  • Previously, Websense V-Series appliance unit growth was noted for the highest rate of growth of any enterprise class content security appliance product according to IDC
