When designing, engineering and building racing chassis for Red Bull's Formula One racing teams, Red Bull Technology has to think one thing… how to get faster. But with the sensitive design intellectual property combined with the big business of Formula One racing, they can’t afford to be fast and loose with their data. Recently, they paired with Websense to both protect their sensitive data and employees from Web-born threats using the Websense® Web Security Gateway and Websense Data Security Suite on the Websense V10000  appliance.

For those of you not in the know, IP in Formula One racing is one of the most sensitive and highly guarded trade secrets. This is big business, as illustrated by the $100 million fine levied in 2007 against Formula One team McLaren over the possession of confidential technical data belonging to rival team Ferrari.

To protect this highly sensitive data, Red Bull Technology elected to use the Websense® TRITON™architecture to provide the best security for modern threats with the lowest cost of ownership.

TRITON architecture unifies Red Bull Technology’s Web and Data Security solutions into a single management console, enabling the safe use of the Web, while protecting in real time from blended and emerging threats and stopping outbound data loss through Websense TruContent™ intelligence.
