Earlier this week we were fortunate enough to attend the Demo conference in Palm Desert. For those of you who are not familiar, Demo is mostly designed for startups and entrepreneurs to gather and launch their latest products and companies. We were lucky enough to be accepted to demo our newest generation of our Facebook security application Defensio.

At the conference we showed some of the exciting new features we have put into this version specifically designed to protect corporate brand presence and properties on the social Web. The Defensio technology protects companies' brands, their reputation, their customers, and prospects on their Facebook page by analyzing and classifying user-generated content posted to their pages.

New Defensio features debuted at DEMO Spring 2011 include in-depth analysis and protection for embedded photos and videos on Facebook pages and news feeds. Not available anywhere else, corporate Defensio users are protected from photos and video with hidden malicious links. Defensio automatically removes unsavory content, which protects fans and brand reputation.

For organizations looking to quickly understand what malicious links, spam, and profanity are appearing on their Facebook page, we also showcased Defensio's new "Scan my Facebook page!" button. Brand administrators simply visit www.websense.com/facebook and click the "Scan my Facebook page!" button. Defensio's technology will then analyze the corporate Facebook page and provide easy-to-interpret metrics to detail the volume of malicious content, spam, and profanity that resides on the page.
