Security Park, the leading online news site for security professionals University Teaching Hospital in UK selects the integrated Websense Web, data and email security platform to protect essential information

University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) NHS Foundation Trust, a leading university teaching hospital and research and development centre in the UK, selected the complete Websense essential information protection platform for Web, data and email security. The organization selected the Websense portfolio to create an integrated, policy-based IT security platform to protect confidential patient data and valuable intellectual property from Web 2.0 threats and data loss.

The solution will be rolled out across the Trust’s 7,000 users and includes the Websense V10000 secure Web gateway appliance, Websense Web Security Gateway, Websense Email Security and Websense Data Security Suite.

“We recognised that with the rise of Web 2.0, that the threat landscape had changed and we needed a security platform in place that would not only protect against ingoing and outgoing Internet threats over Web and email, but would also help us to identify where our valuable information existed, set policy over who had access to that information and what they could do with it,” said Mohandeep Randhawa, Service Delivery Manager, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.
