I've just, after a lot of pain and problems, finished the fresh installation of Web Security 7.6 and now I need to install one last component.

In the services.msc you can clearly see that all required services are happy and running..  but for some unknown reason i get the message "Policy Server not found"

Does anyone have any idea on what is causing this ?

There is no firewall running on the server and all components are installed on the same machine.

Hi,

Where did you get the error message "Policy Server not found"?

Please post the whole error message.

Best regards

I installed everything (on windows 2003 R2 server btw) but for some reason the managment interface for web security was still missing, so i was trying to install this component...  during this install I got this message that the policy server was not found and that I needed to specify where this policy server could be found.

In the meantime I disabled a lot of services (like sharepoint that is running on it as test, symantec antivirus & a lot of HP proliant services) and restarted the policy server service and then the installer found it and continued with it....  so this is actually now solved (i hope)

Allthough I still have a lot of errors in the web security interface at this time...
Will see if the suggested solutions can clear everything up

Click "Previous" to go back to the list of components.  Scroll down and select "Policy Server."

It would have been nice for that option to have been more visible...it had me scratching my head as well...
