I have been challenged to re-structure our Block page to differentiate between a continue page and block page AS WELL as re-wording the block messages that are more user friendly and help them better understand why they are being blocked.
We have a customized block page (that I inherited from the previous Websense Admin) and I am not very HTML savvy. Working with Websense support they just point me to the Admin Manager pdf which really does a poor job of explaining the ins-and-outs of how their blockpage/html code works.
Is there an SDK or any good tools and tips on how to fully customize the block page or does Websense limit what we can modify? Or is it a matter of sending our web design people the block page files and asking them to figure out how to make it look better
If it's a matter of me needing to understand HTML more than I guess the real answer is to send it to our web dev people and see if they can hack it
I have found you can modify the wording, put in links to AUP's, security policies etc and also change the frame size, colour and logo's etc. You can also redirect and publish your own pages, although you may have issues integrating the information from Websense which populates the default block page (username, date, category blocked etc)
I think it would be a neat feature if Websense could offer more info on how to modify (and improve), better still delepo tools to help design.
Apart from the basics I have implemented (edting existing block and style pages), you have to have a bit of html editing experiance to fully implement these
Perhaps those that have done some fancy stuff would be prepared to share their work (individual company or private stuff excluded) on these forums ??
