Is it possible to block access to the iTunes store for Movie and audio downloads but still allow access to the Apple Apps store?
I turned on the block for MP3 and Audio Download filter, but when I did that I also lost access to the Apple Apps store.
Any suggestions?
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for your post.
First, we need to know the specific URL and blocking policy. So I suggest you run Testlogserver to see what is getting blocked and by which policy.Below is the KB for how to use Testlogserver in Websense Web Filter:

We can investigate later when getting the details.

I believe he's trying to find out an easier way to do it, not messing around trying to find out the correct URLs, like having a category for all the stuff inside the iTunes store.
Is there a way for Websense to see if the iTunes traffic it's music, videos, books, etc., and the applications and iOS updates?
What I really like to do is something like this:Block everything in the MP3 category for all users (I don't want them downloading music, movies, the bandwidth intensive stuff), but allow apps & iOS updates for all everyone.
Actually, it would be nicer to "detect" Apple iOS devices by MAC address and allow them to get apps & iOS upgrades, is it possible?
PS: running Webfilter 7.6.2
I also need to know how to block everything from iTunes accept iOS and apps. We do not allow music/video's and such for our corporate employee's.
We need iTunes App Store to allow for our mobile device manager to "talk" to our iPads & iPhones.
An answer, aside from the test log server scenario would be greatly appreciated.
I am in the same situation where we would like to block Movies and Music, but allow Apps and iOS updates.
Is there any way to do this?

I'd like to know as well.
