Hey all;
I have a question regarding Filtering Services / Network Agent in our configuration. We’re running Websense Standalone v7.5 on Windows 2008 R2, SP2, 32-bit. We have 3 servers.
Server-1: DC Agent, Filtering Service, Network Agent, Policy Broker, Policy DB, Policy Server and User Service
Server-2: Apache, Explorer Report Scheduler, Filtering Service, Info Service for Explorer, Log Server, Reporter Scheduler, Usage Monitor
Server-3: DC Agent, Filtering Service, Network Agent
So, we have a Policy Server, Report Server and extra (in case we needed it for filtering requests). In the Triton console I can see we are using (Settings / Network Agents) Server-1 and Server-3 for filtering. I’d like to change this to Server-1 & Server-2 so that we can decommission Server-3.
Do I need to run setup on 3 to remove the services then run setup on 2 to re-define them? When I attempted to change the servers through the local section of Network Agent I don’t have Server-2 as a defined option.
Thank you,
CF
yes, you'll need to uninstall the services on 3 and install them on 2. However, before you do so, make sure you have the required hardware before you do so.
