Hi, we are deploying a new email architecture with Exchange 2010 and Exchange Federation using the Microsoft Exchange Federation Gateway to share a namespace (all users send/receive as @domain.com) and calendar/free/busy etc. We want to put Websense Email v5000's (already own them) in each AD forest/domain in the Federation. Normally, the Exchange servers would talk via port 25 (SMTP) directly.
Does anybody know how to deploy Email Security appliance in this scenario? Does the ESG just act as a smarthost to broker the connection between Exchange servers in the different orgs?
