Hello, I am upgrading from a 2003 server machine with ISA server 2006 and websense 7.5 to a new 2008 server with Forefront TMG 2010 and websense 7.7.
I have TMG running and Websense installed. The problem comes after installing the TMG plugin.
When I try to start the Firewall service I get an error an this is logged onto the system events:
Forefront TMG failed to load Web Filter DLL D:\Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway\\Websense-ISA.dll.
This is happening with a clean websense installation, no policy migration has been done yet and I can't seem to find the issue posted on the forums.
We had to open a case with support because of this.
The answer is that Websense and TMG cannot be installed on the same box. You will need two separate servers for each software.
I will update this question as solved!
I could be wrong, but I believe the only component that Websense supports running on TMG is the ISAPI Plugin...If there are any other Websense components installed you'll get issues ??
having the same problem with websense 7.7.3
and also afer the plug-ins installed I got
"Web Security could not be launched."
