I am installing the Triton Unified Security Gateway (7.7).  I got through the Infrastructure, Web Security and Data Security pieces ok, but when I got to Email Security and entered the C Interface address of the v5000 appliance it says it cannot connect to it.  I checked the Help doc and one of the potential issues is:

  • The Email Security Gateway appliance you specify already has a subscription key associated with it.

This is true, Websense tech support was assisting with an issue around the Web Security setup and had me enter the subscription key during that process.  My question now is, how can I either bypass this error and get it to connect to proceed with the Email Security installation OR temporarily remove that subscription key?  I checked the Web Security config screens and can find no way to remove it without entering another one.

Thank you.

I don't have access to a ESG right now, but this is done by logging into the ESG Appliance Manager. Go to Toolbox and open the Command Line utility. A separate window will open. One of the options is an esg-license-reset or similar. Run it to remove the license from the ESG.

NOTE: This is how you do it in 7.6.2. I have not seen the interface in 7.7 yet. Hopefully it's the same or similar enough.

Your v5k appliance was runing in dual mode? WWS and ESG in one appliance? If you want to intall the TRITON Email Secuity, the v5k appliance must have ESG module installed. You should note that the dual mode of v5k does not have WCG module.
