As an alternative to forcing people to use a webmail-style "secure email system" like Voltage, Axway, IronPort, etc. we'd like to force the use of TLS with known partners. Our criteria is that the other side has to run their own email server and not be using a cloud provider, TLS has to be enabled on every MX record they have and they have to be sending to us by TLS. Right now it's a fairly time-intensive task to sort through all of the logs and we have to be asked to add a domain.

A report where we could enter a domain and a date range and see how many messages came in from them by TLS  with the source IP address and how many messages did not use TLS with the source IP address plus the same information from us: How many emails we sent by TLS to what destination IP address and how many went unencrypted to what IP addresses for the selected domain.

This would allow us to rapidly see whether a domain was suitable for enforcing TLS and not requiring the use of the webmail "secure email" system.

A second more general report that listed the Top X domains we sent to using TLS only and the Top X domains we received from using TLS only would tell us which partners we could proactively set to TLS.

Thanks for listening,

Ray

Hi Ray,

Thank you for inquiring about a new feature in Websense Email Security Gateway.  Your request FR201209-5022 has been entered into our Feature Request tracking system, and our Product Management team will review it within the next 30 days.  If you need a response sooner, we recommend that you open a case with Technical Support.  When the request is reviewed, the product manager will decide whether to accept this for future consideration or ask for more information.  Please note that Websense receives a high volume of feature requests, and as such Websense cannot include all of these requests in the next product release.  That said, the product team is constantly revisiting the list of requests to determine the features that have been most frequently requested, so that the highest priority features are addressed.

We look forward to your continued participation in the Websense community and welcome your active involvement in our product direction.

Phil
