Is it possible to change the bandwidth scale shown in reports from KB to MB? I can't imagine why someone would think generating reports with values such as 295,873,272 would be useful to send through to management. If a user's internet activity is so low KB would be the most suitable measurement to show their bandwidth in, then management aren't going to care about their internet usage.

Hi

Actually, Websense bandwidth is not based on how much traffic by seconds, minutes etc, but over time the number of requests can generate traffic. Websense bandwidth reports help customer analyze trend, usually. You could however limit the bandwidth with Bandwidth Optimizer.

"On 03/03/10 from10am to 2pm my company used 25.07GB of data" So, our bandwidth reports do not give the instantaneous value.

Implement bandwidth restrictions, blocking users from accessing otherwise permitted categories and protocols when bandwidth usage reaches a specified threshold (see Using Bandwidth Optimizer to manage bandwidth, page 221).

I think the original question was to put the figure in a humanly readable form: I understand if an employe has used 350 MB of traffic last month, but "348,758,692 octets" is not as easy to read. That's the most popular question I get from manager I send reports to. So that would indeed be nice to have bandwidth in MB.

Hi Lionel,

Thank you for your post, now I know the problem, but I am sorry to say that:

Currently, it is not possible to modify the Websense bandwidth report in MB. You can submit your suggestion via http://www.websense.com/global/en/ProductsServices/Feedback/.

Thank you.
