Hi,

We have a number of intranet links which are being used in our organization and we would like all those links to be accessed directly  and not through Websense.

We are using Microsoft TMG as proxy and Websense Triton for Web Filtering.

Please let us know how can we achive this as this is a major issue which we are facing in right now.

Appreciate your comments.

Thanks,

You would do this at / before the integration, not at Websense because you don't want the traffic to even get that far.

Are you using a PAC file for explicit proxy to use the TMG?  If so you can build logic into the PAC file to not use the proxy based on URL / destination IP.  That way the machines go straight to the intranet site and don't touch Websense or your TMG.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, this is not a suitable option to be used in our environment as our infrastructure is a bit complicated and if we try this solution we might end up in blocking the business.

Requesting you to please let us know how can this be achieved, can this be done on the Proxy end or is there an option which we can try on the Websense end.

Appreciate your quick response in this regards.

Thanks,

If you're going to bypass traffic from reaching Websense you have to do it at or before the integration point, so in your case you have to do it at the TMG proxy, or configure things so that intranet traffic doesn't go to the TMG proxy in the first place.

How are you configuring the proxy server for the users? If by GPO, you can set the exceptions as part of the GPO. If using WPAD on TMG, you should be able to set the exceptions there. Disclaimer: I have lots of ISA experience but no TMG experience. This is really easy to do in ISA.
