The Websense Reputation Service is a valuable piece of the Websense Email Security product. However, in our environment we cannot enable the feature. In our business one missed email can be the difference in securing a muti-million dollar loan. The reputation service too frequently blocks the connection from a valuable source. In that event it is almost impossible to even know that an email was missed. It is completely impractical to configure trusted relay sources for every possibility, and we wouldn't want to do that anyway.
I would very much like to see the ability (or choice) to implement the reputation service as a rules service message blocking feature. If I could put that at the bottom of my rules list and notify customers of the isolated messages in PEM we could have the best of both worlds.
Hi,
Thank you for inquiring about a new feature in Websense Email Security. Your request (FR201208-4952)has been entered into our Feature Request tracking system, and our Product Management team will review it within the next 30 days. If you need a response sooner, we recommend that you open a case with Technical Support. When the request is reviewed, the product manager will decide whether to accept this for future consideration or ask for more information. Please note that Websense receives a high volume of feature requests, and as such Websense cannot include all of these requests in the next product release. That said, the product team is constantly revisiting the list of requests to determine the features that have been most frequently requested, so that the highest priority features are addressed.
We look forward to your continued participation in the Websense community and welcome your active involvement in our product direction.Thank you.
Phil
