I am unable to upgrade iphones to ios6 using itunes. The download completes and starts, then when it verifies with apple it fails with error 3014. I have added all the apple IPs to the rule, and even created a rule to not do any filtering for the source IP. If i bypass the websense device it works fine.

Is there any record showing that Websense blocked any site? Have you run testlog server? I know there are many cases where error 3014 happens when doing the Iphone upgrading. You can google it.

i tried google, nothing helpful in my case. As soon as i removed websense from the picture it worked, i out it back in and it stopped working. Have not tried testlog yet.

Has there ever been a solution for this?  I am experiencing the same issue.

I tried using the testlogserver.exe as well as a wirecapture.  iTunes is trying to contact http://gs.apple.com when it is verifying the update.  This URL is permitted in my policy, and shows as permitted in the log output.

The wire capture shows that gs.apple.com is sending a TCP RST message when the software is being verified.

If I disable sending web traffic to Websense the problem goes away.

I am using a firewall to redirect traffic to Websense.
